The Mind of Christ by Tara Laney

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)

As God continues to reveal his mysteries to me and I understand more about his

purposes on the earth, I am coming to realize just how critical the renewal of our mind

is. After all, as followers of Christ we now have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16)!

However, if we are not intentionally renewing our minds with the truth we cannot and

will not be able to operate in this life with the mind of Christ that is ours. Our minds

are so integrated into the thinking of our culture and beliefs that are acceptable in our

society that we must take every thought captive and compare it to the truth of God's

word so that we can know what is real... what it is that God really wants us to do (his

will).

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete. (2 Corinthians 10:4-6).

If we want to be transformed into the sons of glory that we were created to be and

make a real impact on this world in which we live, we must begin by bringing our minds

and thoughts and beliefs about this world in line with what God's word says. And as

he reveals his truth to us, we must make our thoughts obedient to this truth and then

move forward with the mind of Christ. Otherwise, his truths will remain mysteries to us

and we will continue to conform to the pattern of the world and the power that is within

us to continue Christ's work of restoration will not be activated on the earth.

I don't know about you, but I am claiming my mind for Christ and using that divine

power to demolish the strongholds that religion, society, education and government

currently have in my mind.

Lord, let your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
